Rhydon
Rhydon is HVAC R&D’s resident “Sales Guy”. He grew up in Bryson City, a small mountain town in Western North Carolina. Rhydon got his start in the heating, air conditioning and refrigeration business working alongside his dad, HVAC R&D’s one and only ‘Cajun Joe’ in the family HVAC business.
He originally began his HVAC career as a tool and parts runner fresh out of diapers, from the time he could walk he was riding shotgun in the work van and it was his job to entertain and evaluate customers from a young age. By the age of thirteen he was running his own rough-in crew during summer break from school. By the time he was in college he was managing ‘sales and operations’ for the family business.
The sales management and HVAC skills he learned while working in the family trade business helped him succeed in college. He double majored in History and Entrepreneurial Business at Western Carolina University. Upon graduation Rhydon moved into the wholesale distribution side of the HVAC industry.
With over a decade of success under his belt as a Territory Manager, Rhydon has received numerous accolades and has made a lasting impact in the HVAC industry across the Carolina markets. He is the only individual sales person from his particular brand that has had a “Top 10 Performer” award every year since 2017 throughout the entire country.
Rhydon brings his field experience in the trades, as well as his contractor and distribution sales knowledge, to the HVAC R&D podcast. His main focus is helping contractors get the most out of their vendor partnerships for themselves and their customers.
Rhydon currently resides in Concord,NC. He has been married to the love of his life, Kris, since 2013. They have the three most spoiled schnauzers you can find and one or all of them can often be heard snoring or barking in the background of nearly every HVAC R&D episode.
Aside from his love of all things HVAC, Rhydon is an avid English Premier League and Formula 1 fan. He will forever reminisce over his short-term career in sports writing alongside his then fiancé. Rhydon and Kris also love exploring the West Coast mountains and deserts of Nevada and California, and of course drinking a cold #hitchhiker (Modelo) at the end of a long, hard day.
